Christmas Shipping Deadlines 2026: Last Day to Order for Delivery

If you have already picked a gift, the only question left is timing. These Christmas shipping deadlines for 2026 show the last day each major carrier recommends for delivery before December 25. They also show the last day to place an order with Aquager so your gift can ship in time.

The short version: order by Thursday, December 10 for the safest arrival before Christmas. Orders placed through Monday, December 14 can still meet the final carrier cutoffs, but they leave no room for delays. Our own last day to order is Wednesday, December 16, because our last ship day before the holiday break is Friday, December 18. Orders placed after December 16 will be shipped starting January 7.

Below you will find the USPS and FedEx dates, how we turn a carrier cutoff into an order-by date, and what to do if you are close to the line. The carrier dates were last checked on October 11, 2026. UPS had not published its 2026 last-ship dates at that time, and we will update this page when it does.

What Is the Last Day to Order for Christmas Delivery?

Our orders are processed within 3 business days, then take 4 to 7 business days to arrive. All delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Here is how that plays out in December:

  • Safest order-by date: Thursday, December 10. An order placed that day should ship by Tuesday, December 15 and arrive by Thursday, December 24 at the latest.
  • Last-chance date: Monday, December 14. An order placed that day should ship by Thursday, December 17. That matches the final USPS Ground Advantage and FedEx Ground cutoffs, but our 4 to 7 business day estimate would put arrival between December 23 and December 28. Treat it as a gamble.
  • After December 14: expect the order to arrive after Christmas.
  • Last day to order from Aquager: Wednesday, December 16. Our last ship day before the holiday break is Friday, December 18. Orders placed after December 16 will be shipped starting January 7.

Christmas Day falls on a Friday this year, so there is no weekend buffer. If the gift matters, order early.

What Are the 2026 Christmas Shipping Deadlines for USPS, FedEx, and UPS?

Here are the recommended last days to ship, taken from each carrier's own schedule. These are recommended dates, not guarantees, and they apply to a package being handed to the carrier, not to an order being placed with a store. See our guide to last minute Christmas gifts for food lovers if the calendar is tight.

USPS Christmas deadline

The Postal Service announced its dates on September 22, 2026, for expected delivery before December 25. The USPS release lists these dates for the lower 48 states:

  • USPS Ground Advantage: Thursday, December 17
  • First-Class Mail: Thursday, December 17
  • Priority Mail: Friday, December 18
  • Priority Mail Express: Saturday, December 19

For Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories, the Ground Advantage date is one day earlier, on December 16. The other three dates are the same.

FedEx holiday shipping

FedEx lists last recommended ship dates for delivery by December 24. The dates below come from its 2026 peak schedule, as reported by Value Added Resource:

  • FedEx Ground Economy: Tuesday, December 15
  • FedEx Ground and Home Delivery: December 17 for a 5-day transit, December 18 for 4 days, December 21 for 3 days, December 22 for 2 days, and December 23 for 1 day
  • FedEx Express Saver: Monday, December 21
  • FedEx 2Day: Tuesday, December 22
  • FedEx overnight services: Wednesday, December 23

FedEx notes that Ground transit times depend on the origin and destination ZIP codes, so the right date for you depends on where your package is going. For this season's offers, see our roundup of Black Friday gardening deals.

UPS holiday shipping

UPS had not published its 2026 last days to ship for Christmas delivery when we checked. It has said that all services deliver on Christmas Eve and that it is closed for regular pickup and delivery on Christmas Day. We will add the full UPS dates here once they are released.

We ship with carriers such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx, depending on your location. You will get a tracking number by email once your order ships.

Which cutoff applies to your order?

The carrier and service depend on your location, so the exact date that applies to your package can differ from the ones above. That is why we count back from the earliest cutoff when we set our own order-by date. If your gift is going to Alaska, Hawaii, or a U.S. territory, add extra time, because the USPS Ground Advantage date is a day earlier. Planning around delivery? See our Cyber Monday gifts that arrive by Christmas.

How Do We Turn a Carrier Cutoff Into an Order-By Date?

A carrier cutoff is the last day a package can be handed over. Before that, an order has to be processed. So the math works backward: take the carrier date and count back 3 business days.

  • USPS Ground Advantage, December 17: order by Monday, December 14.
  • USPS Priority Mail, December 18: order by Tuesday, December 15.
  • FedEx Ground Economy, December 15: order by Thursday, December 10.
  • FedEx Ground 5-day transit, December 17: order by Monday, December 14.

The earliest of those is December 10, and that is why it is our safe date. It also lines up with our own estimates: 3 business days to process and up to 7 business days to deliver puts a December 10 order on your doorstep by December 24.

Only business days count. Weekends do not, and neither does Christmas Day. That is why a Monday order and a Thursday order can land on very different dates, even though they are three days apart on the calendar.

Processing can be faster than 3 business days, and many orders ship sooner. But we would not plan around the best case. A gift that arrives early is a bonus, and a gift that arrives late is a problem.

What Is the Order-By Date for the Chef's Organic Set?

For the Chef's Organic Set, order by Thursday, December 10. It is a larger box, and it arrives flat-packed. Assembly takes about 60 to 90 minutes, tools are included, and there is a step-by-step guide.

That means you need a few extra days for building if you plan to give it on Christmas morning. An order that arrives on December 24 is too late to build and wrap comfortably. An order that arrives by December 21 leaves you time to put it together, plug it in, and tuck a handwritten note under the lights.

The set is $199.99 in Blonde Maple and the two-tone finishes, and $229.99 in Chestnut Ember. The list price is $279.99, so that is $80.00 or $50.00 off. Shipping is free in the United States. It comes with 24 plants, and the first sprouts appear in 6 to 9 days, so the first harvest comes in 3 to 8 weeks. It is a gift that pays off in January. What Is the Order-By Date for the Microgreens Starter Kit and Seeds?

The same dates apply: order by Thursday, December 10 for the safest arrival, and treat Monday, December 14 as the last chance. The Microgreens Starter Kit is $29.99, which is $5.00 below its $34.99 list price. It includes 2 trays with domes, 4 compostable mats, and 4 seed packs.

It is much smaller than the farm, and it needs no assembly. That makes it a good choice if you are close to the deadline, because there is nothing to build once it arrives. Harvest takes 5 to 25 days depending on the variety.

Microgreens seed packs are $7.99 each and make an easy add-on. Orders of $40 or more ship free, and orders under $40 pay a flat $14.99, so it helps to combine gifts into one order.

Can You Still Order After December 14?

You can, but we cannot promise it will arrive before Christmas. Orders placed after December 14 will most likely arrive after December 25. Our last ship day before the holiday break is Friday, December 18, so Wednesday, December 16 is the last day to order. Orders placed after December 16 will be shipped starting January 7. If you still want to order, here are your options:

  • Order anyway and tell the recipient it is on the way. A short note that says "your gift is shipping" turns a late arrival into a plan.
  • Frame it as a New Year gift. The farm and the kit are both starts to a new routine, and they fit January well.
  • Check the delivery estimate at checkout. It reflects current processing and carrier times.

Volume orders for offices in Chicago are different. For three or more sets, we offer free hand delivery to Chicago offices, with a last delivery day of December 18, for orders placed by December 10. Orders placed after December 10 are delivered from January 6. You can see the tiers and the quote form on our bulk pricing page.

What Can Delay a Christmas Order, and What Can You Do?

Weather, carrier volume, and holidays can all slow a package. Shipping times may vary, and we are not able to control delays caused by carriers. We will keep you updated if something changes. A few small steps lower the risk:

  • Check your address at checkout. If you need to change it, email contact@aquagertech.com within 10 hours of placing your order.
  • Watch your tracking email. You will get a tracking number once the order ships.
  • Ship to a place where someone will be home. A work address or a neighbor's home can help if you will be away.
  • Report problems fast. If a package shows as delivered but you cannot find it, or it arrives damaged, email us within 7 days of the delivery date.

Christmas Shipping Deadlines FAQ

What is the last day to order from Aquager before the holiday break?

Wednesday, December 16. Our last ship day before the break is Friday, December 18. Orders placed after December 16 will be shipped starting January 7. For the best chance of arriving before Christmas, order by Thursday, December 10.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on orders of $40 or more. Orders under $40 pay a flat $14.99. We ship within the United States only.

Can I return a gift after Christmas?

You have 30 days from the date your order is delivered to request a return. Items must be unused, in the same condition you received them, and in their original packaging. Email contact@aquagertech.com with your order number first, and do not ship anything back until it is approved. Return shipping is paid by the customer.

Does the BLACKFRIDAY code still work?

The code takes 10% off your entire order, one use per customer, from November 6 through December 4. After December 4, it no longer applies.

Can I ship a gift straight to the person who will get it?

Yes. You can enter their address at checkout. The Chef's Organic Set needs to be built, so many people ship it to their own home first, build it, and bring it over. The Microgreens Starter Kit needs no assembly, so it works well when shipped directly.

What happens if my package is late?

Delivery times are estimates, and carriers can run behind in December. If your order is late, email us with your order number so we can look into it.

Order by December 10, Then Enjoy the Wait

The safest plan is simple. Order by Thursday, December 10, and your gift should arrive by December 24 at the latest. If you are cutting it close, Monday, December 14 is your last chance, and it comes with no cushion.

Once your order ships, you will get a tracking number by email. Then all that is left is to wrap it, or to build it.
